My Mother's House

This living, dynamic collection is both an exploration and celebration of the artwork, photos, and iconography which have molded my artistic practice and aesthetic. These items are all things that I grew up with in my household, no matter where that household was. All of my ideas and designs sprung from the folklore within the rich upbringing I was blessed to have. Photos of my mother when she was young and the subsequent stories behind them. The beautiful ebony bust atop my mother’s dresser I paused to admire every single morning. The stately masks that have hung on the walls of every home we’ve lived. All of these are [were] the nexus of Dopeciety.
